Keep the wolf at the door?

October 23, 2009

I don’t know why, but I can’t get this song from my head today. Any idea what it’s about?

Coming out?

October 9, 2009

I got accused of being gay yesterday. It happens quite a lot (and not just to me). So here’s a song it made me think of:

I’m so, so sorry

I’m going to hell just for linking to this. I have no idea where this pair and going to end up for making it. Funny or offensive? [Trigger warning: May upset ED sufferers/recoverers...]

I have something to say!

April 5, 2009

I had an actually interesting (to a limited value of interesting) post written in my head last night, but now I sit down to write it I’ve realised that I’m running rediculously late for saving lives watching motorbikes crash eating free pig. So instead, here’s a song. Not only is it amusing, it also allows me to use the wordpress tag “giantphallus”!

On an unrelated note, I fear today may be the last day of the beard diary given I look like a hobo and have to go back to work tomorrow :(

Music’s got me feeling so free

Spam time: Buy the London Underground single!

November 17, 2008

Ok, so I’ve never spammed with this blog before, but here goes:

Buy this track!

Amateur Transplants have released a remix of “London Underground” (you’ve all heard of the song, even if you haven’t heard of them) on iTunes (direct link). All the proceeds go to Macmillan, which is a good enough reason to buy something that only costs 79p, but even better, if enough people buy it this week then they (but who are they?) will have to play it on the radio. Which would be awesome.

[On a completely unrelated note, I'm amazed at just how many peverse spam sites are linking to this post because it mentions the word "pissed". I just hope future employers don't run across this site due to links on bukkake (SFW, though the wikipedia image amuses me) or urolagnia (again, SFW) blogs]

You get me closer to God

October 12, 2008

I’ve been watching music videos all morning while scanning certificates for my grad medicine applications (leaving it a bit late? never!), mostly due to Liam waking me up with a text about The Bloodhound Gang’s “Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo“. During my random wandering around YouTube, I came across this, which I believe to be the best remix ever of the best music video ever (so extra besty):

I also found the banned version of “The Perfect Drug”, which is worth a watch…

Life imitates “art”

October 5, 2008

Apparently a new “polypill” is due to hit drug testing facilities soon. From the New Scientist article:

Tests of a single, cheap tablet combining a range of drugs that protect against heart disease and stroke have begun.

The “polypill” was mooted years ago as a cheap way to slash deaths from the big killer diseases, but pharmaceutical companies were reluctant to take on the project as the inexpensive drugs involved provided no financial incentive.

Now excuse me if I’m wrong, but haven’t I heard of this idea before? Sing along

Baby got Gilbert and Sullivan Back

June 2, 2008

Theory exams over. Now I’m revising (lol) for the practicals, so here’s a video that made me giggle – Sir Mix-a-lot’s Baby Got Back, Gilbert and Sullivan style:

Stuck in my head

December 9, 2007

Hah, just realised that the title is a pune, or play on words. Because the thing that’s stuck in my head is the song Tongue Tied from Red Dwarf. Get it?
